Two gold medals from the Balkans International Wine Competition for wines in our organic series. Augeo Family Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 2015 and Augeo Family Estate Syrah & Merlot 2016 received the high honor in June 2019. The members of the jury were from Europe and America. The judging took place in Sofia between June 5th and 7th using the Australian model for awarding points.

The great achievement comes days after Augeo participated at the Balkan Wine Festival in Sofia. These are the sixth and seventh awards for Augeo’s wines this year after the gold medals in China and Germany, the silver ones in England and Switzerland, and the bronze medal in China. As of this moment, all Augeo wines are award-winning from competitions in seven countries on three continents.

Augeo Family Estate Mavrud Reserve 2016 won a silver medal at the largest wine competition in the world Decanter. With 90 points our mavrud received a medal among over 16 500 participating wines from 57 countries. Decanter takes place in England for the 16th time. The international jury was comprised of 280 members from 30 countries, including 70 Masters of Wine and 23 Master Sommeliers.
According to the rules of the prestigious competition, the wines with silver medals are ones who fit the following definition “A very accomplished wine, with impressive complexity”. Augeo Mavrud Reserve impressed the jury and received its distinction deservedly.

In mid-May Augeo Family Estate 2018 will have its premiere. It is the first wine from the 2018 vintage in Augeo’s portfolio. It is a blend between the typical Bulgarian variety Shiroka Melnishka Loza 80% and Syrah 20%. It has a clear light pink color and balanced floral and fruity aromas of blossoming flowers, raspberries, strawberries and red fruits. The wine has a medium body, high acidity and succulence. The taste is dominated by red fruits like strawberries and raspberries. White cherries, ripe apples, pears and peach notes could be discovered as well. It has a fresh and long finish. This wine was produced in a limited series of 2565 bottles. You will find it in specialized shops and wine bars after May 20^th. Augeo Rose 2018 is a great choice for the summer. Taste it!

Augeo Family Estate Red Blend Reserve 2015 received a silver medal at Concours Mondial de ‎Bruxelles 2019. In the 26th edition of this prestigious competition participated 9 150 wines from 46 ‎countries. They were judged by 340 international jury members. The competition, often called the ‎Mondial of Wine, is travelling and takes place in a different country each year. The host-city in 2019 ‎was Aigle in Switzerland.‎
This year the Bulgarian wines again brought reasons of pride as our country is among producing ‎counties like Spain, France in Italy in the Top 10 countries by number of medals. ‎
The silver medalist Augeo Family Estate Red Blend Reserve 2015 is a blend between 50% Cabernet ‎Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 15% Melnik 55. The grapes were grown biologically in the Struma Valley.‎

Augeo Family Estate will participate for the first time at Balkans International Wine Challenge and Festival in June. You will have the opportunity to visit our stall in the second weekend of June.  The opening ceremony will take place on Friday, June 7th, at 17:30, and on Saturday and Sunday, June 8th and 9th, we will be there between 12 pm and 10pm.

The eighth edition will take place outside for the first time in front of the National Palace of Culture in Sofia. Over 100 wineries from the Balkan wine-producing countries are expected to participate.

The competition part will be on June 5th and 6th and the jury members will be experts from the Balkan countries. Follow the details on our website and in Augeo’s Facebook page to find out which wines you will be able to taste!

A special guest will be Gergana Manolova, from the family of the producers. In addition to her knowledge in practice from the summers, spent in Vranya village, her theoretical base on the world of wine was obtained during the completion of her diploma Level 2 Award in Wines and Spirits from WSET in parallel with her studies in Strategic Marketing in Imperial College London. With enthusiasm she will answer all of the wuestions about the wines of Augeo Family Estate and will taste six wines, four of which are medalists from Vienna, Quebec, Hong Kong and London.

Augeo Family Estate Merlot Reserve 2016 is among the top 50 best Bulgarian wines for 2018 according to DiVino. With 88 points it took 44th place in the ranking with over 700 competing wines from local and international varieties.

In the tasting notes of Augeo Merlot the jury wrote: “the wine has deep crimson color. It has a complicated nose with notes of  spices, earthly accents of warm soil, black olives, black cassis in licour and resin. Medium to full body, tight, fresh and harmonic with a smoky finish. Wine with aging potential to remain in the bottle for 2-3 years (2019-2022)”.

Augeo Family Estate will have a stall at the Festival of Wine from Local Bulgarian Varieties “The Wine of the Thracians”. The festival will take place in Plovdiv, European Capital of Culture for 2019.

For the first time Augeo Family Estate will participate in the three-day Wine and Food Festival, which will take place in the seaside capital between April 12^th and 14^th 2019 in Varna Mall at Vladislav Varnenchik Boulevard 186. The festival is organized for the seventh consecutive year and the organizers are promising the participating wineries, wine importers and food producers will present a rich and diverse product lines.

The official opening in on Friday, April 12^th at 16h. The entrance will cost 10 BGN per day. On Friday you will find us at our stall until 20h, on Saturday between 11 and 19h and on Sunday between 11 and 17h.

You will have the opportunity to taste the award-winning wines of Augeo, including the recently awarded at European challenges Augeo Ruen, Augeo Melnik 55, Augeo Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 and Augeo Merlot Reserve 2016, as well as the whites and gold-medalist rosés in our portfolio. You could purchase our wines at special prices during the expo.

The night before the first day of Spring there is an interesting event with Augeo Family Estate’s ‎wines coming up. On March 21st at 19h at Rosso Paint Wine Bar, the guests who signed up have the ‎opportunity to taste three of Augeo’s wines and to paint a gorgeous painting with a Spring theme ‎with the help of a professional artist. ‎
All materials needed for creating the painting, as well as the wine tasting of Augeo Sauvignon Blanc, ‎Rosé and Exquisite Rosé, all with medals from wine competitions in China and Canada, are included ‎in the price of 39 leva. ‎
