• Successful grapes-picking 2022 for Augeo Family Estate

    On October 6th 2022 the grapes-picking of Augeo Family Estate was completed. Traditionally, the last type of grape to be picked was from the traditional Bulgarian variety shiroka melnishka loza from the oldest vines of the company.

    This year again three generations from the family of the producers of Augeo Family Estate joined in the grapes-picking.

    In November, the long-awaited vintage of 2021 will be bottled.

  • Augeo Cabernet Reserve with 5 stars in KATAlogue of the Bulgarian wines

    Augeo Family Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 2015 received the highest 5 stars in the latest edition of the KATAlogue of the Bulgarian wines.

    Augeo Family Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 2015 has aromas with underlined richness of associations – it creates a first impression of dried grapes, and after a little while in the glass it is complemented with carnation, dried mint, thyme and spices. The taste is amalgamate throughout, supplemented with alternating tones of dried sweet fruits, dried grass and dark chocolate.

  • Augeo ShML won a gold medal at The Balkans International Wine Competition 2021

    Augeo Family Estate Shiroka Melnishka Loza and Merlot 2019 won a gold medal at the The Balkans International Wine Competition 2021. At the 10th jubilee edition, the The Balkans International Wine Competition 2021 took place in Skopje, North Macedonia between June 2nd and 4th, 2021. Wine experts from over 20 countries, along with the Chairman of the jury Mr Konstantinos Lazarakis MW tasted and graded the wines during the competition.

    “We are really proud that our newest red wine, from a Bulgarian variety, was awarded by the jury of  The Balkans International Wine Competition 2021. This year was difficult, this is the only competition where Augeo Family Estate’s wine was participating, which is why we are happy about the result”, shared Gergana Manolova from the family of the producers. “This is the third participation of Augeo Family Estate at the competition and the fourth gold medal for our red wines”, she added.

    With the participation in the prestigious competition, Augeo Family Estate proved once again that the Bulgarian wine has excellent qualities.

    Augeo Family Estate Shiroka Melnishka Loza and Merlot 2019 includes 70% of the typical variety from Struma Valley and 30% Merlot. The wine has medium intensity color with attractive crimson notes. The aromas are the characteristic for Shiroka Melnishka Loza strawberries, white cherries and red fruit. The distinctive aromas for Merlot blueberry, blackberry and chocolate could be felt as well. The taste reconfirms the aromas with additional fruit notes that could be savored. The wine has a long finish and potential for aging. The series is limited to 2679 bottles.

  • First Bulgarian with an Interview for The Femme Vine

    For the first time a Bulgarian has been interviewed for The Femme Vine – a place that collects the stories of women with wine professions around the world. Gergana Manolova from the family of the founders talks about the emotion, tradition, best practices and the history of Augeo Family Estate.

     

    In the interview, Gergana gives advice to women interested in breaking into the wine world and discusses how she fell in love with wine, enough to make a career of it. She shares a misconceptions about wine do you think people should forget, referring to the consumption of white and red wine based on season, and recommends that each wine should be combined with the right food.

  • Augeo Ruen 2018 is part of the prestigious DiVino Top 50

    Augeo Family Estate Ruen 2018 found a place in the top 50 wines for 2020. The DiVino team gave it 90 points at the tasting in September. What they wrote as tasting note for this wine: beautiful and sparkling intense raspberry color. Elegant fruity nose with notes of forest fruits, smoke, caramel and resin. Fresh, elegant in the mouth with smoky finish. The wine is still young and it will develop beautifully in the next years (2021-2024).

     

    Augeo Family Estate Ruen 2018 has a garnet color with medium intensity. The aromas are rich with notes of blackberries, raspberries and vanilla. Sweetness could be discovered in the taste from the start and center because of the fruity accents. The wine was aged for 7 months in new 225L Bulgarian oak barrels, which gives more intense notes of oak in the taste. On the palate the tannins have medium intensity and the finish is long.
